According to the climber, the state can pay the amount that exceeds the health insurance. He noted that there were similar situations when the country's authorities took on the costs of landmark rescue operations.

The fact that 47-year-old Nagovitsina was stuck at Victory Peak was reported on August 19 in the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan. She broke her leg during the descent and has been at altitude for about two weeks. Vera Belikova, the administrator of the Karkira base camp, called the climber a very strong and calm person. She has already had experience of climbing mountain peaks in the past, and many climbers know her.

Later, on August 23, it became known that the Italian climber Luca Sinigaglia, who tried to save Nagovitsina, suffered frostbite on his right hand and subsequently died of cerebral edema. He also added that since 1955, not a single person has been evacuated from Victory Peak.

Mountaineer Bair Batuev, who flew behind Nagovitsyna, told about the rescue operation on August 27. He explained that since Victory Peak, where a Russian climber with a broken leg was waiting for help, no one had been able to save anyone yet. This place is specific, and the chances of a successful rescue operation were practically nonexistent. The climber is currently in the hospital, he suffered a compression fracture of his spine during helicopter landing.
