A Russian who was preparing an attack on a military airfield in Engels confessed to working for the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). This was announced on August 27 by the FSB's Public Relations Center.

"Following the instructions of the curators from the SBU, the attacker traveled to the territory of the Saratov region to prepare for a sabotage and terrorist act at one of the military facilities in the region," the department said.
