AvtoVAZ plans to launch a large-scale assembly of Lada cars in Kyrgyzstan in 2026 as part of a project to create a national model under the Muras brand. The investment fund Central Asia Capital will become a partner in the creation of production. This was reported by Vedomosti on August 27.

A representative of AVTOVAZ confirmed the company's interest in this project. The representative of the fund shared that the total investment in the project will amount to $30 million, financing will be carried out at the expense of Central Asia Capital's own funds and attracted through the issue of bonds.

As previously reported by the publication Economist.kg The project to build a car factory for the production of the Muras national car was presented in August at the VII Kyrgyz-Russian Economic Forum in Bishkek. The brand "Muras" means "heritage" in translation. It is noted that the project has received strong support at the state level. The plant plans to launch production of Granta, Vesta, Largus, Niva and Iskra, a commercial version of Largus, as well as medical and social transport based on these models.

The strategy provides for a gradual transition from large-scale assembly to full localization of production within 10 years. At the first stage (2026-2030), it is planned to conduct large-scale assembly and produce up to 1.5 thousand machines per year. Then (by 2035) the company will deepen localization, expand the model range and increase production to 5,000 vehicles. After that, according to the plan, the production of cars will begin on a full cycle, the development of its own models will begin, and over 7 thousand cars will roll off the assembly line every year.

"The base price of the car will be from $10.4 thousand, but negotiations are currently underway with the government of the Russian Federation on possible subsidies to AvtoVAZ. If they are successfully completed, the price in the first three years can be reduced by 15% to $ 9.1 thousand," the newspaper reported.

The day before, it became known that AvtoVAZ, together with the Saint Petersburg Automobile Plant (formerly the Nissan plant), have begun the final stage of preparing mass production of the Lada Iskra. In total, up to 4 thousand copies of the model are planned to be produced in St. Petersburg by the end of the year.
