The version about the undermining of the Nord Streams by a group of Ukrainians on a sailing boat is implausible, since such a vessel would not be able to provide this operation. This was announced by retired Lieutenant Colonel Earl Rasmussen in an interview with Izvestia on August 27.

"We're talking about thousands of pounds of explosives. We are talking about deep-sea diving, which means the need for a decompression chamber and probably a doctor on board the vessel. I can't imagine how a sailboat can carry all this and support this type of operation. I just don't believe it," he said.

According to the political scientist, a group of random people would be unable to commit sabotage, since both pipelines are protected by a thick layer of concrete and steel.

Rasmussen clarified that Ukrainians who were trained by the Americans may be involved in the bombing of the Nord Streams. According to him, the United States "definitely had a hand in this case." He added that American ex-President Joe Biden was also involved in the sabotage.

"We know Biden is involved in this: a tweet from Poland saying, 'thank you, Mr. Biden,' or something like that, a tweet from the UK also saying, 'successful operation,'— Rasmussen said.

In addition, he noted that when the pipelines were blown up, the gas and energy industries were primarily affected. As a result of the sabotage, heating prices in Europe have increased significantly, and because of this, people's daily expenses have increased.
