On August 27, the Russian Ministry of Defense published footage of the combat work of a sniper pair of the Ivanovo Airborne unit in the Chasova Yar area, where it performs tasks as part of a special military operation.

Sniper pairs of Ivanovo paratroopers destroy enemy manpower daily, which is trying to move in small groups or attack Russian army positions in the area. The paratroopers are armed with the Russian Orsis T—5000 sniper rifle, capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 1.5 thousand meters.

During combat missions, the sniper and spotter choose a convenient shooting position, make it and wait. After the target appears, taking into account factors such as humidity, wind direction and distance, the spotter gives target designation, and the sniper opens fire to kill.

After that, the sniper pair quickly and covertly changes their firing position and continues to conduct targeted fire.

"Our task now is mainly to cover the stormtroopers so that they get well into the forest. <...> We see the enemy, we practice," said a sniper with the call sign Tagil.

On August 26, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the operators of the Vostok group of forces' UAVs had hit the manpower and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Yuzhnodonets area of the special operation. It was clarified that during the reconnaissance, a group of Ukrainian militants was discovered in the forest belt. The Russian military launched an air strike and destroyed the target.
