Firefighters managed to contain a fire that engulfed two apartments of a nine-story apartment building in the Kirovsky district of St. Petersburg, as a result of which a man died. As reported on August 26 by the press service of the Main Directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region, open gorenje has been eliminated.

It is noted that the fire spread in a three-room apartment on the fourth floor, the fire area was 71 sq. m. And also on the fifth floor in a three-room apartment on an area of 10 sq. m.

"At 20:28 localization, elimination of open gorenje," — stated in the Telegram channel of the department.

A source for Izvestia reported earlier that day that one person was killed and another was injured in a fire in a three-room apartment in the Kirovsky district of St. Petersburg. Previously, the fire also damaged four concrete slabs. 28 specialists and seven pieces of equipment were sent to the fire site. The Main Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the city opened a criminal case under Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing death by negligence").
