A retrospective screening of Peter Todorovsky's films was held in Moscow.
A retrospective screening of Peter Todorovsky's films was held at the Library of Foreign Literature in Moscow. The event is dedicated to the centenary of the film director's birth, the organizers noted.
The retrospective was opened by the screening of the film "Down the Main Street with an orchestra." The film was presented by director, actor and playwright Alexander Rusnak. "We are talking not only about the film, but about the work and the era of Pyotr Efimovich, in which the characters walked the streets, not always in the main ones and not necessarily with an orchestra every time. But their path led to the understanding that it is important, first of all, to be true to oneself, to one's vocation, to one's dream — "loyalty" in this sense, is the main category of Peter Todorovsky's entire work," Rusnak said.
As part of the event, unique chronicle footage was presented, telling about Todorovsky's work on the set. There were also fragments of his famous works and rare recordings of accompaniment, which he created as a guitarist for Vladimir Vysotsky.
Peter Todorovsky is a director, cinematographer, screenwriter, actor, composer, People's Artist of the RSFSR, winner of the State Prize of the Russian Federation and the Nika Film Award. He was also nominated for an Oscar in 1985 in the Best Foreign Language Film category for his film A Military Field Novel. Todorovsky's famous directorial works include "Fidelity", "Urban Romance", "Mechanic Gavrilov's Beloved Woman", "Military Field Novel", "Interdevochka".
