In Russia, the price of the bestseller among used foreign cars has decreased

The Kia Rio model, the best-selling foreign car in Russia with mileage in 2025, has fallen in price by an average of 8% in the secondary market since January. This was announced on August 26 by Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat analytical agency.

"Prices for relatively fresh cars have dropped even more seriously (minus 10-14%). This is due to the high share of sales of this model from under the taxi. Only cars built in 2022 are breaking out of the trend, since there are significantly fewer of them than older cars," the expert explained in his Telegram channel.

On average, a Kia Rio car loses 7-9% of its value (a 2012 car is 43% cheaper than a 2021 model). This is a good indicator, especially against the background of the loss of value of Chinese cars, the analyst said.

In the first seven months of this year, 63.4 thousand Kia Rio cars were sold in Russia, Tselikov estimated. Almost 90% of them are for 2012-2022 production years, and there are practically no more recent cars on the market.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that the average price of a new Chinese car remained virtually unchanged for the year and amounted to 3.1 million rubles in the summer of 2025. However, as experts noted, over the year, individual models of a number of brands have noticeably fallen in price.
