In Perm, one worker was killed and two others were injured in a gas explosion while preparing for the repair of railway tanks. This was announced on August 26 by the State Labor Inspectorate of the Perm Region.
The accident occurred at the site at 40/1 Promuchastok Street, where Transtrade employees were working.
"There was an explosion of a gas-air mixture during the preparation of railway tanks for scheduled repairs. As a result of the incident, three employees were hospitalized with severe burns, one of whom later died in a medical facility," the agency's website says.
An investigation has been launched into the incident, witnesses and the employer are being questioned, as well as an analysis of the workers' employment documents. It was established that they were allowed to operate without having completed training in occupational safety. The perpetrators will be brought to administrative responsibility for violating labor laws.
Earlier, on August 8, on Nevsky Prospekt in St. Petersburg, the ceiling collapsed in one of the apartments of a residential building during renovation work. As a result of the incident, two workers inside the building were injured, one of them died.
