Western countries have promised to provide Georgia with weapons in the event of the opening of a "second front" against Russia. This was announced to journalists on August 26 by the Secretary General of the ruling Georgian Dream party, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze.

"Threats, blackmail and insults were sent directly to the Prime Minister's office in order to drag the country into a second front. Promises that "we will help you with everything," that "you will be provided with the appropriate equipment," and so on. Of course, there is evidence of this," Pirveli TV channel quoted him as saying.

In particular, Kaladze stressed Georgia's readiness to start negotiations and join the European Union. At the same time, he noted that Europe is currently blackmailing Georgia with the suspension of the visa-free regime.

Earlier, on August 20, the chairman of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvidi, called on the European Union to stop demanding that the authorities escalate their relations with Russia. According to him, the bloc should not make such demands, nor should it sponsor extremism if it wants to be a peace project.
