A resident of Sevastopol was sentenced to 14 years in prison for treason
In Sevastopol, a man was sentenced to 14 years for transmitting information to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) about the movement of ships of the Black Sea Fleet and the movement of Rosgvardiya helicopters. This was announced on August 26 by the press service of the regional prosecutor's office.
"The Sevastopol City Court has issued a guilty verdict in a criminal case against Dmitry Myskov, a 45-year—old local resident," the department said in a statement posted on its Telegram channel.
According to the agency, in the period from July to September 2024, in correspondence in the WhatsApp messenger (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation), he was recruited by representatives of the special forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and given the task of collecting and transmitting military information.
It is specified that the man photographed the locations and movements of certain ships of the Black Sea Fleet. For this, he received a monetary reward.
In addition, during the same period, the defendant joined a Telegram channel coordinated by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) to carry out intelligence and sabotage and terrorist activities in Russia. Myskov sent videos of the deployment and movement of helicopters of the Rosgvardiya troops to the representatives of this channel.
It is noted that he was found guilty under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("High treason"). The person involved in the case was sentenced to 14 years of imprisonment in a high-security penal colony, with a one-year restriction of liberty and a fine of 200 thousand rubles.
On August 21, it was reported that a resident of Crimea was sentenced to 15 years in prison for treason and preparing a terrorist attack on behalf of the Ukrainian special services. It is specified that the malefactor planned to set fire to the relay cabinet of the State Unitary Enterprise of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Crimean Railway" in order to disrupt military transportation. The investigative unit of the FSB of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol opened a criminal case under Articles 30 Part 1, 205 Part 1 ("Preparation for a terrorist act") and 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
