Russian chess player Yan Nepomnyashchy and seven other Russians have been included in the list of players who can participate in the World Chess Cup in India. This was announced on the website of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) on August 26.

The participants included Sergey Lobanov, Andrey Esipenko, Ivan Zemlyansky, Vladislav Artemyev, as well as Arseniy Nesterov and Daniil Dubov.

"Representatives from more than 90 countries are expected to participate, and this will be one of the most popular events in the history of chess," the report says.

The World Cup with the participation of 206 chess players will be held in Goa from October 30 to November 27 this year. The prize fund will be $2 million.

On July 22, it became known that Roman Shogdjieff, a 10-year-old Russian, became the youngest international chess master. It was noted that Shogdjieff's achievement would be sent to the Guinness and Russian Books of Records.
