A man who called for the murder of the Russian military was detained in Moscow.

Law enforcement agencies have detained a Muscovite who called on social networks and messengers to commit murders of Russian military and security forces, and he is currently under arrest. This was announced on August 26 by the Department of the FSB of Russia in Moscow and the region.

"A resident of Moscow, born in 1978, who was involved in posting calls for the murder of Russian military personnel and law enforcement officers on social networks and messengers, has been detained," RIA Novosti news agency quoted the agency as saying.

In addition, the means of communication that were used to carry out the crime were seized from the Muscovite.

A criminal case was opened into the incident under an article related to public calls for terrorist activities, public justification or propaganda of terrorism. It is specified that the attacker may face up to seven years in prison.

The FSB also called on Russian citizens to be vigilant against such provocations by intruders on the Internet in order to avoid rash illegal actions that could result in criminal liability.

Earlier that day, the Investigative Committee of Russia reported on the suppression of criminal activities of minors involved in the activities of terrorist organizations in the regions of the Russian Federation. The court imposed sentences ranging from five to six years in prison to be served in an educational colony.
