The journalist Mongait was put on the international wanted list

The Dozhd journalist (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation) Anna Mongayt (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation) was put on the international wanted list. This was reported on August 26 by RIA Novosti with reference to the case file.

It is noted that the search was announced on August 6. According to the documents, in 2022, Mongayt left for Azerbaijan and is now outside of Russia.

Mongayt was arrested in absentia for two months from the moment of her detention or extradition. She is charged under clause "d" of Part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, "Spreading deliberately false information about the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation motivated by political hatred."

Earlier, on July 21, the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia in Moscow opened a criminal case against Mongayt. Actions were taken to collect and consolidate the evidence base.
