A suspect in a 17-year-old murder was detained in the Moscow region.
A suspect in a murder committed 17 years ago was detained in the Moscow region. This was announced on August 26 by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk.
"It has been preliminarily established that in August 2008, on a plot of land in the village of Chkalovo in the Lyuberetsky district of the Moscow region, an attacker together with an accomplice committed the murder of a local resident. Then, to conceal the traces of the crime, the body was buried. It was not possible to find the killers in hot pursuit," she wrote on the Telegram channel.
Volk added that as a result of the work on solving crimes of previous years, police officers detained one of the suspects. It turned out that his accomplice died in 2013. During a search of the detainee's place of residence, two pistols, more than 60 cartridges of various calibers, as well as narcotic drugs and equipment for their production were found.
In addition, the investigators determined that the suspect may be involved in organizing illegal migration. According to Volk, he helped four foreigners legalize their stay in our country.
Criminal cases have been initiated on the grounds of crimes under Part 2 of Article 105 ("Murder") and Article 222 ("Illegal acquisition, transfer of basic parts of firearms, ammunition"), 228.1 ("Illegal production, sale or transfer of narcotic drugs") and 322.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Organization of illegal migration").
On August 15, it was reported that a man who killed a married couple in the village of Pahachi 22 years ago had been found. It was clarified that under the pretext of buying caviar, he entered their house, and then attacked the couple. The prosecutor's office opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Murder of two or more persons for mercenary motives"), which was referred to the court for consideration.
