Anthropological remains 400 years old found in the center of Krasnoyarsk

A 400-year-old mass grave has been found in the center of Krasnoyarsk. The discovery was made during pipe replacement work. The remains were sent for criminological examination.

According to KrasnoyarskMedia news agency with reference to the GradVestnik Telegram channel, the work was carried out on Karatanova Street.

Danil Lysenko, director of Krasnoyarsk Geoarchaeology LLC, said that the remains belong, according to preliminary data, to the time when the Krasnoyarsk prison existed. They may date back to the 17th century.

At the same time, there is no information about burials on this site in the plans of Krasnoyarsk. This is also not mentioned in historical sources.

Earlier it was reported that in the Abinsky district of the Krasnodar Territory, scientists found the remains of a young woolly mammoth. This major paleontological find was made on the banks of the Abin River.
