US President Donald Trump has announced that he will allow 600,000 Chinese students to study at universities in the United States. This was reported by the South China Morning Post newspaper on August 26.

"I hear so many stories that we are not going to let their [Chinese] students come to us. We are going to allow their students to come. This is very important — 600,000 students," the newspaper quoted Trump as saying from a meeting with South Korean President Lee Jae-myung on Monday.

The American leader also stressed that his administration is going to "get along well" with China, and repeated that Chinese President Xi Jinping had invited him to visit China.

The Politico newspaper reported on May 27 that the Trump administration has suspended the appointment of new interviews for student visas, as it is considering the possibility of introducing mandatory verification of the social networks of all foreign students.

The meeting between Trump and Lee Jae-myung took place on August 25 at the White House. The MBC television network noted that during the meeting, the previously reached agreements on duties were specified. The US President, in particular, proposed organizing a summit between the leaders of the Republic of Korea (ROK) and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), and also announced his intention to rename the United States Department of Defense to the "Ministry of War."
