President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has clearly expressed his intention to continue attacking the Druzhba oil pipeline if Budapest does not take a pro-Ukrainian position. This was announced on August 26 by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto.

According to him, Zelensky openly, rudely and shamelessly threatens Budapest.

"Zelensky made it clear that if Hungary does not take a pro—Ukrainian position, as demanded by Brussels, the European People's Party and its Hungarian Tisa party, they will certainly continue to attack the Druzhba oil pipeline, which is necessary for Hungary's energy security," Szijjarto said.

At the same time, he stressed that the bombing and rocket attacks on the pipeline harm not Russians, but Hungarians and Slovaks.

The minister called it outrageous that Zelensky warned Hungary on camera about the threat to energy security from Ukraine if Budapest did not follow the position of Brussels. Szijjarto stressed that this is scandalous and shameful, as well as contrary to the interests of Hungary.

"Ukraine is pursuing an openly anti—Hungarian policy, and Ukrainians expect that Brussels and its Hungarian governors will exert sufficient pressure on Hungary to abandon its current position and take a position completely contrary to Hungarian interests, but consistent with Ukrainian interests," he added.

Szijjarto, among other things, accused the European Commission (EC) of silence against the background of attacks on energy infrastructure from Kiev. He stressed that now it is not the same European Commission that it was before, but the Commission for Ukraine.

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto announced on August 22 that the Druzhba oil pipeline, which supplies Russian oil to Hungary and Slovakia, had stopped working again after a Ukrainian attack on its infrastructure located in Russia. At the same time, US President Donald Trump told Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban that he was "very angry" over Ukraine's strikes on the oil pipeline.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, in turn, called the attacks by the Ukrainian army on Druzhba "pure banditry." She stressed that in international law such activities are classified as terrorist.
