Earlier, Rospotrebnadzor warned that the flu vaccine would not protect against the new Stratus coronavirus variant. Representatives of the service explained that coronaviruses belong to a different group of viruses and have a different structure, writes Moscow 24.

On August 24, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Gennady Onishchenko gave recommendations on protection against the new strain of coronavirus Stratus. According to him, for prevention, it is necessary to follow the already well—known rules - to dress according to the weather, if necessary, to wear medical masks. He urged to remain calm and get vaccinated against the flu, as the vaccine has already been delivered to the regions. The symptoms of "Stratus", as the specialist clarified, are similar to previous variants of COVID-19 and include fever, weakness, cough, runny nose, headache, and in some cases loss of sense of smell and stomach discomfort.
