In the Kirov region, five women were convicted for organizing and financing the activities of a Ukrainian organization that is banned in Russia. This was announced on August 26 by the press service of the Federal Security Service (FSB) for the region.
"The verdict of the Leninsky District Court of Kirov against five residents of the region found guilty of organizing and financing the activities of a Ukrainian public organization banned in Russia has entered into legal force. The perpetrators have been sentenced to imprisonment," TASS quoted the text of the message.
According to the FSB, a cell of a foreign non-governmental organization operating in the Kirov region engaged in the involvement of Russian citizens in illegal activities. The participants also collected money and sent it to Ukraine.
A criminal case has been opened under an article concerning the organization of activities and fundraising for foreign organizations deemed undesirable in Russia.
On August 20, employees of the Department of the FSB of Russia in the Zaporizhia region detained a resident of the region for financing the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). A criminal case on high treason was opened against her.
