In Donetsk, security forces detained a Russian who was preparing caches of explosives for sabotage at critical infrastructure facilities on behalf of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). This was announced on August 27 by the press service of the regional directorate of the FSB of Russia.

It is noted that the defendant established contact with the Ukrainian curators through the Telegram messenger to assist in carrying out tasks against the country's security. Thus, on the instructions of the SBU, the attacker carried out photo-fixing of administrative buildings, as well as critical infrastructure facilities in the cities of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).

It was established that the defendant received instructions on preparing caches of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) to commit sabotage at these facilities, after which he placed them in caches in cemeteries for subsequent use for sabotage and terrorist purposes.

FSB operatives detained the man and seized electric detonators, plastic explosives and an actuator for remote actuation of the devices from the caches.

The ministry added that criminal cases have been initiated against the defendant under Articles 275 and paragraph "b" of Part 3 of Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code of Russia ("High treason" and "Illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation, transfer or carrying of explosives or explosive devices").

It was clarified that the man immediately confessed.
