Banks will be banned from issuing more than 10 cards per person to combat fraud.
Russians will be able to possess no more than 10 bank cards as part of the second package of measures against cyberbullying. This was announced on August 26 in the office of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko.
It is specified that the Russian Federation is expanding measures to combat dropers, intermediaries of fraudsters who transfer their cards or electronic wallets.
"A limit on the number of bank cards is being introduced — no more than 10 issued cards per person," the office was quoted as saying on the Russian government's website.
In addition, such a measure will help banks simplify the control of transactions and the identification of suspicious transactions.
The second package includes measures of various categories, including self-restrictions for citizens, new requirements for mobile operators. It also provides for criminal and administrative liability for intruders.
Earlier, on August 20, the Russian government approved an action plan for the implementation of the Concept of a state system for countering crimes committed using information and communication technologies. It provides for a set of measures aimed at improving legislation, technical counteraction to intruders and increasing the digital literacy of the population.
