Terrorist activities of minors have been suppressed in three regions of the Russian Federation

The criminal activities of minors involved in the activities of terrorist organizations have been suppressed in the regions of Russia. This was announced on August 26 by the official representative of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation Svetlana Petrenko.

"The Investigative Committee, in cooperation with the FSB, has suppressed the criminal activities of minors who are members of terrorist organizations in three regions of Russia," she said.

According to the investigation, a 17-year-old resident of the Sakhalin region created a channel promoting radical ideology in a popular messenger. After that, he received training in handling explosives for the purpose of carrying out terrorist activities. Later, a minor in the city of Kholmsk decided to try to activate an improvised explosive device, but employees of the regional FSB department managed to stop illegal actions.

In addition, teenagers in the Ivanovo Region and Stavropol Territory voluntarily became members of international terrorist organizations banned in the territory of the Russian Federation in order to commit further crimes. Their illegal activities were also stopped by Russian FSB officers.

Depending on the role of minors in crimes, they were found guilty under art. 205.3 ("Undergoing training in order to carry out terrorist activities"), Part 2 of art. 205.4 ("Organization of a terrorist community and participation in it"), part 2 of art. 205.5 ("Participation in the activities of a terrorist organization"), part 1 of art. 30, Part 1 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Preparation for a terrorist act"). The court sentenced them from 5 to 6 years of imprisonment to be served in an educational colony.

Earlier, on August 19, a source from Izvestia reported the arrest of a man who planned to commit a terrorist attack at a Moscow higher educational institution on the instructions of the curators of Ukraine. Instructions were sent to the defendant via Telegram, and he was supposed to receive $2,4 thousand for committing the crime. A criminal case was opened into the preparation of a terrorist act. It is specified that the man immediately confessed.
