Those who set fire to railway equipment in the Saratov region were charged with a terrorist act.

Three teenagers were arrested in the Saratov region on suspicion of setting fire to railway equipment in August. This was announced on August 26 by the press service of the Western Interregional Investigative Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee (MCUT IC). Of Russia.

"Three minors have been charged with committing a crime under paragraph "a" of Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act committed by a group of persons"), — stated on the agency's website.

It is specified that the curator contacted the 15-year-old Engels resident via messenger with an offer to commit a terrorist attack on transport infrastructure facilities for a monetary reward. The teenager accepted the offer and convinced two of his 16-year-old friends to join him. As a result, minors set fire to two relay cabinets and one all—weather cabinet on the stretch of Anisovka - Sazanka stations.

Law enforcement agencies were able to detain the intruders. All the circumstances of the incident are currently being established.

In July, teenagers who set fire to railway equipment in the Orenburg region and Udmurtia were charged with a terrorist act. According to the Center for Public Relations of the FSB of Russia, citizens of the Russian Federation born in 1974, 2008, 2010 and 2011 carried out arson attacks on transport infrastructure and cellular communications equipment.
