The sun repeated a two-month flare record, and a new strong flare was recorded. This was announced on August 26 by the press service of the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy of the Institute of Space Research (IKI) and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics (ISSF) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

"A new strong flare was registered on the Sun at 08:25 Moscow time. The measured event score on the accepted X—ray scale is M4.52. Yesterday, at almost the same time, at 08:24, an outbreak of M4.56 was recorded, which became the largest since June 20 of this year," the laboratory's website said.

It is noted that during the night, the star's activity increased and, according to scientists, should break through the highest level of X during the day. At the same time, the active solar centers have moved about 15 degrees closer to the Earth during the current day. So, some of them are located 50 degrees from the Sun–Earth line.

The Institute of Applied Geophysics (FSBI "IPG") reported that on the night of Tuesday, August 26, two strong solar flares of the penultimate power class occurred.

A day earlier, the Sun recorded its most powerful flare since June 20 this year. According to scientists, such an event occurred due to a sharp increase in solar activity, which is associated with the appearance of several large active centers on the visible side of the solar disk.
