The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) intends to purchase 1,000 manned SUVs for about $100 million, which will be used in raids to identify illegal migrants. This was reported on August 25 by the Independent newspaper with reference to the agency's report.

"1 thousand brand new SUVs modified for use by law enforcement agencies <... They can cost taxpayers about $100 million," the publication says.

It is specified that the purchased vehicles will be modified for use by law enforcement agencies, illuminated, equipped with sirens, hands-free communication systems, lockable weapon storage, as well as tactical seat covers. All windows of SUVs will be tinted and decorated in accordance with the developed design.

On August 21, the Associated Press (AP) agency, citing the US State Department, reported that the agency plans to check over 55 million foreign citizens who have received American visas for records in their personal files of law enforcement agencies or immigration services. If they are found, the visa holder may be deported from the country.
