The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has initiated several cases regarding unjustified increases in retail fuel prices at gas stations in some regions of the Russian Federation. This was announced on August 25 on the website of the Government of the Russian Federation.

"The service has initiated several cases of violation of antimonopoly legislation in cases of overestimation of retail prices at gas stations in certain regions," the material says.

The issues of fuel sales to agricultural producers during the harvesting campaign and compliance with antimonopoly regulations were also considered. According to the Ministry of Energy, due to increased sales and timely deliveries, prices for gasoline and diesel fuel have decreased on the St. Petersburg Stock Exchange over the past two trading days.

On August 14, the press service of the Russian government reported that Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak supported the proposal of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation to extend the embargo on gasoline exports. They noted that Novak held a meeting of the headquarters on the situation on the domestic market of petroleum products, during which he noted the need to maintain fuel sales levels in sufficient volumes.
