Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced on August 25 that while he holds office, Belgrade will faithfully follow the path of joining the European Union (EU).

"As long as I hold this position, Serbia will firmly adhere to the path of integration into the EU, is committed and committed to this course, implementing and implementing the necessary reforms," he said in an interview with Euronews TV channel.

In addition, Vucic suggested making Belgrade a venue for potential talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin, with whom he has "warm relations" and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. He also noted the openness of the Russian leader to dialogue on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.

On August 21, Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric called his country's full-fledged membership in the EU a "strategic landmark." During a meeting with the new head of the country's permanent delegation to the EU, Andreas von Beckerath, Djuric noted Belgrade's willingness to strengthen relations with all institutions of the European community.
