An auto expert spoke about the consequences of driving with a jammed steering wheel

If the driver does not contact the service center in a timely manner in the event of a steering jam, the vehicle will pose a danger not only to itself, but also to others. This was announced by auto expert Vladimir Bakharev on Monday, August 25.

According to the expert, the car may become uncontrollable not on a straight stretch of road, but on a turn. This is fraught with collisions with obstacles, as well as pedestrian casualties.

"Jamming, biting (difficulty turning. Steering is dangerous because the driver does not expect such meanness from his car. It is unlikely that this will happen in a straight steering position, most likely when changing direction, and this leads to collisions with an obstacle, flying into the oncoming lane or onto the sidewalk where pedestrians are," Bakharev warned in an interview with Paragraph.

The auto expert added that if a manufacturer announces a recall campaign for one of its models, all owners of this car should undergo a technical inspection, regardless of the presence or absence of a malfunction at the moment.

In less than nine months, Ford has already announced five times more recall campaigns than FCA (the American division of Stellantis), which ranks second in this ranking with 21.
