In Moscow, the start-up of the restored tram line along Trifonovskaya Street began

The first test tram ran along the restored line from Obraztsova Street to Rizhskaya Square in Moscow. This was announced on Monday, August 25, by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of the capital for Transport and Industry.

The new carriage "Lion Cub-Moscow" was able to cover almost 4 km without a contact network on an autonomous course. Experts checked the site and did not reveal any serious size issues, the Moscow City News Agency reports.

The main track works have been completed on Trifonovskaya Street and near Rizhskaya Square, and the improvement and arrangement of platforms is ahead, RIAMO clarifies. The launch of traffic to Rizhskaya Square is planned before the end of 2025, the website writes kp.ru .

Liksutov noted that trams have not run here since 1995, and the resumption of traffic will significantly improve the transport accessibility of the area and make trips more convenient, RT reports.

On August 12, "Moscow 24" wrote that a new tram route would be laid near the Ostankino TV Tower. The line in the district of the same name will connect Akademika Koroleva Street with the MCD-3 Ostankino station.
