US President Donald Trump hopes to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. On August 25, the head of the White House told reporters at the signing ceremony of a number of new decrees.
"We will meet at some point. I'm really determined to do that," the US president said.
According to Trump, he and Kim Jong-un are good acquaintances. The American leader added that after his return to the presidency, "we had no problems with the DPRK."
Commenting on the DPRK's military potential, the US president noted the great capabilities of the DPRK army and the country's significant missile reserves.
Earlier, on July 26, the Yonhap news agency reported, citing a White House official, that Trump remains open to working with Pyongyang to achieve the "complete denuclearization" of the DPRK. According to the newspaper, expectations remain in the administration of the President of the United States regarding attempts to resume personal diplomacy with Kim Jong-un.
