A criminal case has been opened into the poisoning of a group of tourists in the Republic of Dagestan. This was reported on August 25 in the press service of the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region.

"A criminal case has been opened into the provision of services that do not meet the requirements of consumer health safety under Part 1 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation," the agency's Telegram channel says.

Investigative actions are being carried out within the framework of the criminal case aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident, including those related to catering. Work is also underway to identify those involved.

Earlier that day, it became known that 30 people had food poisoning at a recreation center in Dagestan. 20 people, including 15 children, were admitted to the Derbent Infectious Diseases Hospital.
