In Ukraine, a conscript died during transportation to a training center in the city of Smela. This was announced on August 25 at the Cherkassy territorial recruitment center (TCC, an analogue of the military enlistment office).

"While the car was driving through the city, Yevgeny Mikhailovich Kushnir, a military reserve soldier, jumped over a row of car seats, arbitrarily opened the side door and jumped onto the roadway on the move, as a result of which he received multiple injuries. Unfortunately, on August 24, Kushnir died from his injuries," reads a message posted on the official Facebook page (owned by Meta, a company whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

It is specified that the staff of the shopping mall stopped the car, provided Kushnir with primary medical care and called an ambulance. He was taken to the hospital, but later the man died. In addition, when checking through the unified state register of military personnel, it was established that the deceased had a deferral from military service.

On the same day, the Ukrainian online publication "Strana.ua" reported that a man who was being held in the Sarnensky shopping mall died in western Ukraine. It was clarified that the man was kept indoors for three days. Later, his relatives found out that he was in the morgue. The police told the family that the man had become ill and they were calling an ambulance.
