In the UK, Ukrainians are dismantling used vapes to convert individual device parts into charging components for drones. This was announced on August 25 by the BBC television and radio company.

"Volunteers of the Association of the Ukrainian Community [of the British city] Leeds (LUCA) is recycling components such as batteries and wires from discarded vapes to ship them to Ukraine for use as energy sources for soldiers <...>. The recycled components are used to power drones, phones, and night vision devices in the trenches," the article says.

One of the members of the organization said that the converted devices can be used as a light source when cooking.

"We open the vape, take out the battery, isolate the wires and pack them into boxes," he said.

On August 22, it became known that the Finnish defense concern Summa Defense will send the first batch of drones (UAVs) to Ukraine in the second half of 2025. It was reported that the production of the first test batch in cooperation with a Ukrainian partner is already in the process.
