- Presentation of the Arguments and Facts Publishing House project took place in Zaryadye
On Sunday, August 24, in the framework of the forum "Territory of the Future. Moscow-2030" in the small amphitheater of Zaryadye Park, a presentation of the Argumenty I Fakty Publishing House project "Our Heritage: Preserved and Revived" with the premiere screening of the documentary film took place.
The film was produced and shot by Argumenty I Fakty publishing house with the support of the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives as part of a special multimedia project dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, which aims to tell a wide audience about the amazing Russian restoration school and the dedicated work of museum staff to restore cultural monuments destroyed by the occupiers during World War II..
The project also includes interactive maps, a 3D tour and a detailed account of the history of the preservation and revival of palaces in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region.
The presentation of the project was opened by Elena Mullanurova, Brand Director and Head of the Directorate for Brand Development and Multimedia Projects at Argumenty I Fakty Publishing House.
"Our project is primarily aimed at a young audience, because every fifth young person aged 18-24 knows nothing about the genocide of the Soviet people and the deliberate destruction of our values. Gradually, with each new generation, the memory of the crimes of the Nazis during the Great Patriotic War is eroding, and this should be an alarm signal to society: if a person does not know anything about it, he does not consider it necessary to remember it. Therefore, today, more than ever, there is a question of preserving historical memory. And our project allows us to shed light on the true attitude to eternal values and the approach to preserving their culture, identity and self-awareness of the people. Walking through the halls of the Mikhailovsky and Pavlovsky palaces, admiring the fountains of Peterhof, everyone should know what selfless work is behind preserving and bringing these monuments back to life. Let me remind you that the hunt for cultural treasures in the Third Reich was put on stream from the very first conquests. After occupying the country, they declared all its valuables to be the property of the Fuhrer Foundation. In August 1942, Reichsmarschall Goering declared at a conference: "I intend precisely to plunder!“ and he succeeded in this — during the Second World War, he created his own museum, which he needed a whole train to evacuate in early 1945. We are sure that the project is "Our legacy. Preserved and revived"gives us all another opportunity to once again openly declare what really happened in those terrible years," Elena Mullanurova believes.
Roman Kovrikov, CEO of GMZ Peterhof, became one of the heroes of the film. Peterhof was occupied from September 23, 1941 to January 19, 1944. In addition, most of this time the palace complex was actually on the front line, which had the most tragic effect on the state of the monument of architecture and history.
The premiere of the film of the same name will take place in early September 2025. The project "Our Heritage: Preserved and revived" is integrated into the large-scale project of the Argumenty I Fakty publishing house "We have won!", which tells about the exploits and destinies of participants in the Great Patriotic War, it contains exclusive reports by Georgy Zotov from former concentration camps, historical essays by Konstantin Kudryashov and other materials about the marshals of Victory, logistics, reconnaissance and liberation of the occupied territories.
