During his visit to Kiev, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stere promised to allocate $8.5 billion to Ukraine in 2026 as part of the country's long-term support program. This was reported by Bloomberg on August 25.

"Norway's financial support to Ukraine in 2025 will be continued in 2026. The planned amount is $8.5 billion in 2026, which I will propose to the parliament," Stere said.

According to the newspaper, Norway has been one of the ten largest donors of financial and military aid to Kiev since the outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine. If the aid package is accepted, the total amount of aid allocated to Oslo will amount to about $27 billion, Bloomberg writes.

The day before, the Norwegian government announced that the state would provide Ukraine with air defense equipment worth about 7 billion crowns (more than $695 million). It was noted that Norway and Germany will jointly purchase two Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems for Kiev, including missiles. Norway will also purchase TRML-4D anti-aircraft radars from the German manufacturer Hensoldt and the Typhon 2 air defense system from Kongsberg.
