Bild has learned about Germany's spending of €50.5 billion to support Ukraine
Since the end of February 2022, Germany has spent about €50.5 billion to support Ukraine. This was reported by the Bild newspaper on August 25, citing data from the country's Ministry of Finance.
"€25 billion was spent on accepting Ukrainian refugees in Germany, €17 billion went to military support, €6.7 billion in civilian aid, and €1.9 billion for the Ukrainian budget," the material says.
According to the newspaper, the German Finance Ministry plans to send Kiev another €17 billion in 2026 and 2027.
In June, Sevim Dagdelen, a foreign policy expert at the Sarah Wagenknecht Union for Reason and Justice (SSV) party, said that during a visit to Kiev, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius promised President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky a record amount of aid worth €1.9 billion. She added that at this time in Germany there are continuing problems with the infrastructure, the restoration of which could spend these resources.
