Sky News reported a helicopter crash off the southern coast of Great Britain
The helicopter crashed on the Isle of Wight, located off the southern coast of Great Britain. This was reported on August 25 by Sky News TV channel with reference to the Hampshire County police.
"The police of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight were called to the scene of the "light aircraft crash" off Shanklin Road near Ventnor at 9:24 a.m. [11:24 GMT]," the material says.
An intensive care unit was also sent to the crash site. At the moment, it is known that one person was taken to the hospital.
Sky News quoted Lee Goldsmith, a witness to the crash, as saying that the helicopter flew in a spiral before crashing into a hedge. She claims to have seen four people on board. According to her, the helicopter's airbags went off.
"The road [Shanklin Road] is closed due to the large number of emergency vehicles at the scene, so please avoid the area at this time," Hampshire Police said in a statement.
The newspaper Le Parisien reported on August 24 that while extinguishing a fire in the French department of Finisterre, a Morane 29 helicopter fell into a pond. The pilot and the fire officer got out of the cockpit safely and survived. The authorities added that the courage, composure and professionalism of the pilot and officer deserve high praise.
