More than 100,000 people were injured due to typhoon Kajiki on the Chinese southern island of Hainan. There are currently no fatalities. This was reported on August 25 by the China News newspaper.

"As of 9:00 a.m. (4:00 a.m. Moscow time) on August 25, there were no casualties in Hainan Province. According to statistics from the National Disaster Management System, 102.5 thousand people were affected in Hainan Province, while detailed disaster data continues to be collected," the publication says.

According to the newspaper, in the city of Sanya, more than 20 thousand trees were toppled or tilted due to the typhoon, and one residential complex was flooded at a depth of about 70 cm. In addition, water shortages have occurred in seven administrative villages, affecting more than 7,000 households, while more than 5,000 households are still without water.

It is noted that the Kajiki brought strong winds and rains to the land and sea areas of the southern half of Hainan Province. It was the strongest typhoon to hit Sanya since meteorological observations were made.

On the same day, the newspaper Vietnam News reported that tens of thousands of residents had been evacuated from several areas of Vietnam due to the approach of the powerful typhoon Kajiki. Currently, more than 1.8 thousand families have been evacuated in Thanh Hoa province, and more than 14 thousand residents have been evacuated in Hatin Province. In addition, as a result of the strongest typhoon, some buildings may be damaged, and some may even collapse, since the wind strength will be about 12-14 points.
