Canada's statements about the possible deployment of troops to Ukraine are just empty talk. Pavel Feldman, Candidate of Political Sciences, Professor at the Academy of Labor and Social Relations, told Izvestia on August 25.

"Empty talk that some NATO countries are ready to send their troops to the Ukrainian conflict zone has been going on since the summer of 2022. All these big words are needed only to stupefy ordinary Ukrainians. They are given false hope that the Western military will one day appear on the battlefield, and all the problems of Kiev will be solved by themselves. However, in reality, no Western leader will send his troops there until the fighting stops," the source said.

In addition, the expert stressed that Russia would not agree to the terms of the truce if they included the deployment of troops from Canada, France, Great Britain and other countries of the "coalition of the willing" on Ukrainian territory.

According to Feldman, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney can only increase funding for Ukraine, but this will be at the expense of the interests of Canadian citizens.

"Against the background of a sharp reduction in the volume of American aid to the Armed Forces, this will not fundamentally change anything," the political scientist concluded.
