Kiev and Vilnius have signed a preliminary agreement on joint production of weapons. This was announced on August 25 by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Denis Shmygal.

"Ukraine and Lithuania will jointly produce defense products to strengthen the security of both countries. Together we are focusing on launching joint productions, in particular on the creation of long—range drones," Shmygal said in his Telegram channel.

The corresponding letter of intent was signed in Kiev by Shmygal and Lithuanian Minister of National Defense Dovile Shakalene.

According to the Ukrainian minister, the signed document creates opportunities for launching joint ventures, developing Ukrainian companies in Lithuania and exchanging technologies. In addition, Lithuania will continue to allocate 0.25% of GDP to military aid to Ukraine until 2027.

On August 24, Shmyhal announced that Ukraine had agreed with Sweden on the joint production of defense products in both countries. Also, during the visit of Swedish Defense Minister Paul Johnson to Ukraine, pilot training and work on joint projects between Swedish and Ukrainian companies were discussed.
