- It was not possible to save a Russian woman stuck at the peak of Victory with the help of a eurocopter
Visibility at the site near Victory Peak, where Russian Natalia Nagovitsina is stuck, is zero due to fog and snow, said Dmitry Grekov, head of the Yuzhny Enilchek mountaineering camp. Footage of the situation in the camp is published by Izvestia on August 25.
According to Grekov, the eurocopter with three employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and Italian pilots flew back to Bishkek.
The day before, it was reported that on August 25, an attempt would be made to find a Russian woman stuck on Victory Peak in Kyrgyzstan using a drone, but they would not remove the body in this way if she died.
The fact that 47-year-old Nagovitsina was stuck at Victory Peak was reported on August 19 in the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan. She broke her leg during the descent and has been at altitude for more than a week. Vera Belikova, the administrator of the Karkyr base camp, said that Nagovitsina is a very strong and calm person. She had previously had experience climbing mountain peaks, and many climbers know her.
On August 23, Grekov reported that not a single person had been evacuated from Victory Peak since 1955. On the same day, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan admitted the death of Nagovitsina at the peak of Victory.
