A criminal case has been opened in St. Petersburg on the embezzlement of 2 million rubles for the supply of escalator parts for metro stations under construction. This was announced on August 25 by the press service of the city prosecutor's office.
According to the agency, officials from among the employees of D-Tex LLC, who were attracted by Metrostroy of the Northern Capital JSC as a counterparty to the contract for the supply of aluminum profiles for the manufacture of escalator balustrades, did not fulfill their obligations and stole more than 2 million rubles allocated as an advance.
"Based on the materials of the inspection of the specialized prosecutor's office, a criminal case has been opened under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud on an especially large scale")," the Telegram channel of the city prosecutor's office says.
On August 7, law enforcement officers in the Nizhny Novgorod region arrested employees of a commercial company who are accused of fraud in fulfilling a state defense order. It is specified that the amount of stolen money amounted to more than 250 million rubles. The court chose a preventive measure in the form of house arrest.
