Sobyanin announced the start of the construction of an overpass in SAO
Moscow has begun building an overpass across the tracks of the MCD-2 from 8 Marta Street to Priorova Street, the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, said in the MAX messenger.
He noted that new streets will be laid and adjacent roads will be reconstructed. "The implementation of this large—scale project will improve transport services in the Northern District, including the Airport, Timiryazevsky, Savelovsky and Koptevo districts," Sobyanin wrote. Thanks to the overpass, drivers will have alternative routes with exits to the North-Western Chord and Leningradskoe Highway, the mayor noted.
A new underpass to the MCD-2 Grazhdanskaya station and Timiryazevsky Park will appear in the alignment of Akademika Ilyushina Street, Sobyanin said. In addition, a single-level roundabout will be built at the intersection of Bolshoy Koptevsky and 2nd Ambulatory passageways. Bus shelters will also be equipped in the area of the overpass, surface pedestrian crossings will be marked, and additional traffic lights will be installed.
Earlier, Sobyanin said that 10 landscaping projects will be implemented in the SAO in 2025. Work will also take place in the Airport, Khovrino, Begovoy, Molzhaninovsky, Beskudnikovsky and Golovinsky districts.
