It is possible to achieve an increase in child support payments by collecting additional expenses, such as rent, medical treatment or visits to sections. This was announced on August 25 by Tatiana Kuzminova, Managing Partner of the Kuzminov Law Group.

"An increase in alimony can also be achieved by collecting additional expenses for the child, including if the child lives in rented housing with the alimony recipient after the divorce, and the alimony payer does not voluntarily participate in these expenses, paying minimal alimony, which is not enough to pay for the rent of an apartment," RIA Novosti quoted her as saying.

According to Article 86 of the Family Code of Russia, in the absence of permanent housing, additional expenses are collected from the parent who lives separately. This usually takes the form of a monthly payment of a fixed amount of money, which is necessarily indexed.

"Similar exceptional circumstances that make it possible to collect additional expenses are the child's state of health, for example, expenses for prosthetics or other medical manipulations (in this case, it may be a one—time payment as compensation for expenses already incurred)," the expert added.

Similarly, you can receive compensation for other expenses for the child. These include paying for sections and clubs, training, and sporting events. It is noted that for this it will be enough to contact the second parent in writing, including this can be done in any messenger.

"If there is no answer or you have received a refusal, apply to the district court at the place of residence of the plaintiff or defendant with a claim for recovery of additional expenses for the child. This category of claims allows us to maintain the balance of rights and obligations of both parents equally in accordance with art. 61 of the Family Code of the Russian Federation," concluded Kuzminova.

Since May 25, the register of debtors on alimony obligations has been launched on the website of the Federal Bailiff Service (FSSP) of the Russian Federation. It is noted that it will include persons brought to administrative and criminal responsibility for non-payment of funds for the maintenance of minor children or disabled parents.
