One person was killed and five injured in a head-on traffic accident in Tuva.
As a result of a head-on collision of two cars on 876 km of the Yenisei highway R-257 in Tyva, one person was killed and five others were injured. This was announced on August 25 by the press service of the Department of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the region in the Telegram channel.
It is noted that on that day, employees of the Highway Patrol Service (DPS) were on duty at 920 km of the federal highway.
"After passing through the law enforcement officers, a 35-year-old mother with a driver's license handed over control of the vehicle to her 19—year-old son, who did not have the right to do so," the law enforcement officers found out.
There were also three minors aged nine, 10 and 17 inside the Toyota Funcargo car. After the accident, all of them were taken to the intensive care unit of a local medical facility. The driver himself was also injured. However, due to the severity of the injuries, it was not possible to save the 17-year-old teenager.
The driver of the second Toyota Vellfire car was a 44-year-old resident of Kyzyl, who was driving towards the city of Ak-Dovurak. In the last year alone, the man has exceeded the speed limit seven times. Of the six passengers in his car, one was taken to a medical facility.
The results of the examination showed that both drivers were sober at the time of the accident. The details and circumstances of the accident are being investigated by the investigative department of the Intermunicipal Department (MO) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Ulug-Khemsky".
"According to the results of the audit, the actions of the young man will be given a legal assessment, the mother will be held accountable for transferring control to a person who does not have the right to do so," the department added.
A day earlier, four people were injured in an accident involving a minibus on the Frunzenskaya Embankment in Moscow. After the accident, traffic on the site was not obstructed. The operational services of the city were working on the spot.
On August 23, two people, including a minor, were killed in an accident in the Leningrad region. A head–on collision between Ssang Yong and Renault occurred on the Kirishi-Budogosch road.
