140 people were arrested on the first day of the Notting Hill Carnival.

The first day of the Notting Hill Carnival in London ended with 140 arrests, 40% more than a year ago. The violations include assaults on police officers, possession of weapons and drugs, as well as sexual offenses. This was reported by the Daily Mail on August 24.
