- In Nicaragua, the National Palace of Culture was illuminated in the colors of the Russian flag
In honor of the Day of the Russian National Flag in tricolor colors, the building of the National Palace of Culture in Managua, the capital of the Republic of Nicaragua, was illuminated. This was reported on August 23 by the Canal 4 TV channel.
"The event was held to commemorate the Day of the National Flag of Russia, a symbol of respect and friendship between the two nations," the publication says.
The ceremony was attended by Charge d'affaires of the Russian Embassy in the Republic Vyacheslav Levchik. The diplomat recalled that the Day of Friendship between Russia and Nicaragua will also be celebrated in December. Various cultural events will be held as part of the celebration, which will further strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
"We are very grateful to the Nicaraguan co-chairmanship, the Nicaraguan people and everyone who shares this special date with us. For the first time in the history of Managua, the colors of our flag are projected onto the facade of this symbolic building," he said.
On August 21, on the eve of the holiday, Vladimir Shapovalov, a member of the Russian Association of Political Consultants and project manager of the EISI, noted that the tricolor is a symbol that historically unites the inhabitants of the country.
