- Russian servicemen who returned from captivity shared their emotions after the exchange
The Russian servicemen who returned from Ukrainian captivity said that they did not fully believe that they would finally go home. The relevant footage is published by Izvestia on August 24.
"I don't fully understand it yet, I can't believe it. I want to see my family and friends. Just to stay at home a little bit," one of the soldiers shared.
Correspondent Alexandra Mostovaya reported that the parties agreed on the exchange at the talks in Istanbul.
Another soldier said that the soldiers did not know until the last moment that they would go to the exchange. They were informed of the preliminary information half an hour before it was sent, and initially they did not even believe the words about it.
Earlier that day, 146 Russian servicemen were returned from the territory controlled by the Kiev regime. After their release, they thanked Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Russian Defense Ministry for organizing the exchange.
In the evening of the same day, a plane carrying Russian soldiers who had returned from captivity landed in the Moscow region.
