During his interview, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov accused an NBC News journalist of making unfounded accusations against the Russian Federation. It was published on August 24 on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

During the conversation, the journalist stated, without providing specific evidence, that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation were allegedly attacking civilian targets in Ukraine. Lavrov asked for evidence, but a TV channel spokeswoman referred to unnamed reporters and changed the subject of the conversation without providing any specifics.

"Listen, NBC is a very respected organization, and I hope you are responsible for the words you broadcast. I ask you to send us or make public the information you just referred to," Lavrov said afterwards.

He stressed that the Russian Armed Forces had never set a goal to hit civilian infrastructure facilities, notes "Газета.Ru ".

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov recalled on May 28 that Russia was striking only military targets of the Kiev regime. He noted that at the same time, Ukraine is attacking residential buildings of Russian citizens and social facilities in the Russian Federation.
